Monsoon is known to be one of the nicest times of the year. Nature is in blossom, the air is clean, and the temperature is cool. Unfortunately, fungus infections are one of the monsoon season’s biggest annoyances.

The Monsoon’s alluring splendour unfortunately brings with it a number of skin illnesses. Seasonal increased humidity contributes to a variety of fungal infection problems which is ideal for the growth and reproduction of numerous fungi because of the humid, moist, and damp circumstances during rainy seasons. Therefore, fungal infections are especially prevalent in the wet season.

Inconvenient, painful, and sometimes difficult to treat, it is important to take precautions against fungus diseases In order to stay comfortable and healthy throughout the monsoon season.

With that being said, here are 6 tips to follow to keep yourself protected against fungal infections, according to Dr Aanchal Panth, a dermatologist.

1) Pat dry your body folds

After a bath, wipe your body folds. This is crucial because moisture or water trapped on bodily folds can foster the growth of fungi.

2) Wear breathable fabrics

Dress in loose cotton. If you have a history of fungal infection, stay away from denim. Wear loose cotton trousers so that sweat may escape more quickly.

3) Change clothes after working out

After working out, change right away. Before changing, do not wait for perspiration to dry. Additionally, if you’ve done cardio exercises, avoid sitting around in your workout attire.

4) Keep your towels clean

Wash and iron towels every day. Use these cotton towels, which require daily washing and ironing. As a result, there is less danger of fungus growing on towel fabric.

5) Keep your undergarments clean

Every day, wash and iron your underpants. Undergarment linings are a frequent site for fungal reinfection. To prevent moisture from gathering on the edges of brassieres and undergarments, be sure to iron them.

6) Avoid applying steroid creams to fungus infections

Please refrain from applying any over-the-counter steroid creams to fungal injections since doing so would only worsen the situation. The condition is momentarily made better with steroid cream but eventually becomes much worse. To get rid of a fungal infection, always seek medical advice from a professional.
